See the algorithm actually run

Step through sorting, searching and graph algorithms one operation at a time, on your own input, at your own pace. Not a summary of what it does — the thing doing it.

No account needed to watch. Signing in only saves your progress.

Built for how algorithms are actually learned

Not another wall of pseudocode. CodeOrbit turns every algorithm into something you can watch, poke at, and be quizzed on.

Step-through playback

Play, pause, scrub, change speed. Every comparison and swap is one visible step, synced to the highlighted line of code.

18 classic algorithms

Sorting, searching, graphs, trees, hashing and dynamic programming — each with pseudocode, complexity analysis and real code side by side.

Challenge mode

Work a run down to fewer steps. Scored on the server from the actual run, and you can retry as often as you like — your best attempt is the one that counts.

Progress that persists

XP tracks how much of the material you have explored, not how fast you got there. Nothing decays, and nothing resets if you take a week off.

Daily challenge

One shared challenge per day — the same puzzle for everyone, whenever you get to it.

Learning paths & certificates

Guided tracks from your first sort through to weighted graphs, with a certificate when you finish one.

A path from your first sort to weighted graphs

Structured tracks that open up as you work through them — no guessing what to learn next.

Beginner Sorting

Work through the foundational sorting algorithms one at a time, from bubble sort up to merge sort.

Intermediate Algorithms

Move to efficient sorts and graph traversal fundamentals. Learn quicksort, heap sort, and explore BFS/DFS.

Advanced

Advanced Algorithms

Shortest paths, dynamic programming, balanced trees and hashing — the algorithms that repay a second look.

Frequently asked questions

Is CodeOrbit really free?

Yes. The visualizer, easy & medium challenges, the daily challenge, the skill tree and learning paths, leaderboards, and XP/levels are free forever. Premium adds hard challenges and certificates on web and Android, and GIF export of any run that draws an array on the web.

Who is this for?

CS students, self-taught developers, and anyone prepping for technical interviews. If big-O notation feels abstract, watching the algorithm run makes it concrete.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Visualizations are readable without writing a line of code — but each algorithm shows real, annotated JavaScript synced to every step, so you learn the implementation too.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — an Android app with the same account, progress, and challenges, rendered at 60fps with Skia. iOS is on the roadmap.

Does one subscription cover web and Android?

Yes. Premium is tied to your account, not the platform — subscribe once via Stripe or Google Play and it works everywhere you sign in.

Can I cancel anytime?

Anytime, in two clicks, from the upgrade page (Stripe Customer Portal) or Google Play. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
