Terms of Service
These are the terms you agree to by using CodeOrbit. They are written plainly on purpose: terms nobody can read are terms nobody agreed to.
Who you are agreeing with
CodeOrbit is operated by Timmie Hemmingsson, a sole trader in Sweden, trading as Vireo, at Vistop Kullen 1, 521 95 Kättilstorp, Sweden. Contact: support@aver-web.se.
What CodeOrbit is
An interactive algorithm visualiser: step-through visualisations, challenges, progress tracking and learning paths. It is an educational tool. It does not promise you a job, an interview outcome, or a qualification.
Your account
You need an account to save progress. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself, and for what happens under your account. One person, one account.
You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need your parent or guardian’s permission.
Free and premium
The core visualisations, step-through playback, progress tracking, the full skill tree and learning paths, and the easy and medium challenges are free. Premium adds the hard challenges and certificates of completion, on web and Android, and — on the web — GIF export of any run that draws an array.
Premium costs 49 kr per month or 399 kr per year. Prices are in Swedish kronor. If you pay in another currency, Stripe converts at checkout using its own rate, which includes a conversion fee, and shows you the exact amount before you confirm. On Android, Google Play sets and charges the price in your local currency. It renews automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time — from the Upgrade page on the web, or from your Google Play subscriptions on Android.
Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not shorten the period you have already paid for: premium stays active until that period ends. On refunds, see Refunds.
Prices can change, but never for a period you have already paid for, and never without at least 30 days’ notice by email.
What you may and may not do
Use CodeOrbit to learn. Share your results. Nothing here restricts that.
Please do not:
- Submit forged challenge results, or otherwise try to place on a leaderboard without having earned it.
- Scrape the service, or hammer the API beyond ordinary use.
- Resell or redistribute premium content.
- Try to break, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service or other accounts.
- Upload anything unlawful, or anything that harasses another person.
Who owns what
CodeOrbit, its content, visualisations and code belong to the operator. Your account gets you a personal, non-transferable right to use it — not ownership of it.
Anything you write stays yours. By submitting solution code you allow it to be stored and shown back to you as part of your history; it is not published or used for anything else.
Availability, honestly stated
CodeOrbit is provided as it is. It is run carefully but it is not promised to be uninterrupted or error-free, and there is no guaranteed uptime. Maintenance happens.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or anything caused deliberately or by gross negligence, and nothing here removes the rights you have as a consumer under Swedish or EU law. Subject to the exceptions above, liability is limited to the greater of what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem and 500 kronor.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. It is immediate and irreversible — but while a subscription is active or in a trial we refuse the request rather than delete an account that Stripe or Google Play would keep charging, so cancel first and then delete. A subscription in any other state, a lapsed payment among them, does not block deletion, so check that billing has actually stopped before you delete.
Your account may be suspended or closed if you materially break these terms — for example by forging results or attacking the service. Where it is reasonable to do so, you will be warned first and given a chance to put it right. If we close a paid account for any reason other than your breach, the remaining prepaid period is refunded.
Changes, and which law applies
These terms may change. Material changes will be emailed to you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, tell us before that date and the subscription ends when the change would have applied, with the remaining prepaid period refunded; if the change materially impairs a paid plan, you may end it for that reason within 30 days of the later of our email and the change taking effect, with the same refund. Neither route requires you to delete your account, and no change reduces the rights you have under Swedish law — konsumentköplagen (2022:260) governs changes we make to the service itself.
Swedish law applies, and disputes go to the Swedish courts. Choosing Swedish law does not take away the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live, and you keep the right to bring a claim there.
You can also take a dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) at arn.se or ARN, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm. ARN decides whether it can examine the dispute under its own rules; current information about its application fee, value thresholds, time limits and exceptions is on arn.se. If ARN examines the dispute, we take part in the proceedings and follow the board’s recommendation.
